    Tubu Tree Camp ★★★

Tubu Tree Camp, as its name indicates, is built into the trees, with elevated wooden walkways connecting eight traditional-style tents on raised platforms, with picturesque views over the surrounding floodplains from a private deck. Each has an en-suite bathroom and an outdoor shower, while the family unit consists of two adjoining tents with separate bathrooms and a shared lounge. The main dining and lounge areas and pool are raised to maximise the vista across the floodplains, and an open bar area is shaded by a large marula tree.

Hunda Island, on which Tubu Tree is situated, is known for its concentrations of game and offers both spectacular wildlife viewing on land, and tranquil adventures on the water. This combination of activities makes time spent at Tubu Tree a complete Delta adventure.

    Activities

    • Game Viewing – Morning and afternoon game drives on Hunda Island reveal the spectacular wildlife of the area, with leopard and other big game often featuring.
    • Night Drives – A one-of-a-kind safari experience awaits after dark where we go in search of the fascinating creatures of the night.
    • Mokoro Excursions – There is no better way to enjoy the crystal-clear waters of the Delta and its wildlife than by traditional mokoro (dugout canoe).
    • Cast a Line – Seasonal fishing with a limited supply of basic equipment (spinner rods and a small range of lures) is available on a catch-and-release basis.
    • Go Boating – Boating is another way to view wildlife from the water, and can yield sightings of hippo and crocodile and perhaps even sitatunga.
    • Hide Out in the Wilderness – The beautiful hide located near to camp is a wonderful platform from which to enjoy passing wildlife. At night, the hide is transformed into a Star Bed that offers a unique wilderness sleep-out experience.
