On the southern coast of South Africa, nestling in an almost secret location, lies Pezula Castle; one of the most exclusive private villas in the world. A beachfront vacation home so special, that out of more than four thousand entries, it was awarded “Best Property in South Africa” by CNBC. The Castle is situated directly on the secluded Noetzie Beach, voted one of the top three beaches in South Africa.
You will live like royalty in this magnificent private residence, and enjoy direct beach access, spacious luxurious suites, all with their own terraces, and personal service from a dedicated team of staff including an executive butler and private chef.
Enjoy long lazy days at the pool, picnic on the white sands of the secluded Noetzie beach, take a stroll to the edge of the meandering Noetzie River that runs through the Sinclair Nature Reserve, and marvel at the magnificence of this exquisite destination where you have chosen to holiday.
It is no wonder that in 2008, Nelson Mandela made Pezula Castle his home for ten days of reflection and peaceful contemplation. So, if you’re looking for the ultimate in luxury vacation rentals, we’d like to welcome you to a unique piece of heaven on earth called Pezula Castle.
The Castle complex offers five spacious luxury suites in three separate villas with sumptuous bathrooms, vast living areas and private terraces overlooking the ocean and beach. You can rent all three villas for a large group, or the individual castle villas.
Situated in its own manicured private garden which provides direct access to the secluded Noetzie Beach, the Main Castle, with three double suites, is the last word in ultra luxury beachfront villas. It offers every conceivable comfort for discerning guests, including a heated rim flow pool, a thatched gazebo perched on the rocks directly above the beach, private terraces with panoramic views of the ocean, and a fully equipped gymnasium.
This exclusive private villa provides the ultimate luxury with two living rooms, a wood-burning fireplace, a 10-seater dining room and three spacious suites with sumptuous bathrooms and magnificent views of the Noetzie Beach and Indian Ocean. Bathrooms have heated marble floors and towel rails, double vanities, separate WCs, free-standing baths and showers. All suites lead out through double doors onto private terraces with comfortable seating and loungers to soak up the sun and the breath-taking views.
Adjacent to the Main Castle, the Honeymoon Castle is arguably the most romantic villa in the world. Totally secluded and private, this luxury beach home is decorated in shades of cream and blue with quirky accessories that give it a distinctly nautical flavour.
The quaint Cliff Castle, a stylish villa set against the cliff face above the Main Castle, has panoramic views of the beach and ocean. It offers spacious accommodation and absolute privacy for a couple, with a luxury bedroom en-suite, adjoining open-plan living area that includes a kitchenette and comfortable seating area. Double doors open onto a balcony which maximises the views. Great for whale or dolphin spotting. A spacious bathroom features heated marble floors, dual vanities, walk-in wardrobe, and separate bathtub, walk-in shower and toilet, to complete the luxury.
The property is a large stone-built structure built on rock on the edge of the beach at Noetzie. It has been built to resemble a medieval castle and is full of comfy, well furnished rooms with beautiful views over the rocks and sea from its many shaped windows.
The main entrance opens into a large lounge area with open fire. There are no direct “neighbours” and the castle is very private and not looked-over. The views to the front are the beach and waves crashing against the rocky outcrops. There are various stone steps leading down from the castle and gardens directly onto the beach – which is pebbled directly below the castle rapidly becoming golden sand.
Pezula is conveniently situated on the outskirts of central Knysna, a bustling lagoon-side community, and one of South Africa’s most popular vacation towns. Its great scenic beauty and temperate climate are complemented by modern amenities and conveniences, including excellent health-care facilities, many fine restaurants, coffee shops and bars, art galleries and museums.
Knysna is a paradise for nature lovers and those who like the outdoors. The lagoon offers numerous water sports including sailing, canoeing, fishing and skiing. The surrounding indigenous forests have marked trails for hiking and mountain biking. Various adventure sports on offer include quad biking, abseiling, kite surfing, ballooning and paragliding.
Featherbed on the Western Head is a privately-owned nature reserve and a South African Heritage site. Ferries provide regular excursions across the lagoon to the reserve. Knysna is famous for its oyster industry and many restaurants and bars offer the delicacy on their menus.
Knysna Elephant Park, Monkeyland and Birds of Eden are popular animal sanctuaries which provide visitors with the opportunity to get close to Africa’s wildlife.
