Bushwa Private Game Lodge is a luxury hideaway in the lesser-known, malaria-free Waterberg region just outside of Johannesburg. The camp has a main area offering 2 luxury tents, 2 luxury chalets, a romantic treehouse overlooking a waterhole and then the self-catering bush camp. When you’re not bumbling around on a game drive or enjoying a bush walk, there’s the option to indulge in a choice of spa treatments at the Tsamma Bush Spa.
Life at the main lodge is bliss. Relax at the rim-flow swimming that has breathtaking views of the wilderness, enjoy evenings under the stars in the boma area or relax in one of the many lounges. The self-catering camp also has its own swimming pool and facilities, making it ideal for groups of up to 16 people.
The treehouse is perfect for a spot of romance, and comes highly recommended for honeymooners. Food is a highlight at Bushwa, and there’s plenty of homegrown fare on offer – vegetables are produce are grown on the property.

The 3 luxury chalets & 1 safari-style tent – each have private viewing decks with sweeping views of the landscape, and sleep a max of 2 people on four poster beds. Expect mosquito nets, percale linen, a mini-bar, plug points. Your romantic room has an en suite bathroom that leads into an outdoor shower surrounded by stone. Private decks are kitted out with deck chairs/sun loungers.

Rekindle the romance in the Tree house set on a waterhole. Completely private about 2 km from the Main lodge. Bathroom with shower outside & wooden deck on the water where you can relax.
The Rhino Bush Camp is a self-catering camp consisting of 5 bedrooms, 2 tented chalets and a loft, kitchen, dining room and bar area. Entertainment area and swimming pool with loungers. Camp is available on an exclusive basis. Inclusive of two game drives or walks per day.
