    Lion Sands Treehouses ★★★★

The Lion Sands Treehouses are the ultimate bush bedrooms. Arrive at sunset to a scrumptious picnic dinner, and spend the hours of dusk fully appreciating the vastness of the bushveld as it transforms from day to night. Slumber directly beneath the Milky Way where you may well lose count of the shooting stars. The Treehouses at Lion Sands Treehouses, including Chalkley’s Treehouse and Kingston Treehouse (both in the Lion Sands Game Reserve), and Tinyeleti Treehouse (in the Kruger National Park) are booked in conjunction with your accommodation. Pack an overnight bag with your essentials, while leaving your other belongings back in your room at camp.

The Treehouses at Lion Sands are for the hopeless romantic (ideal as a wedding or anniversary treat), the adventurer, the person who needs a complete disconnect and digital detox, or the wildlife enthusiast who prefers the bush au-natural. All of the Treehouses at Lion Sands Treehouses are securely constructed above the ground, where animals will remain at a safe and comfortable distance. Our Field Guide at Lion Sands Treehouses will provide a full orientation when he drops guests off before sunset, and will remain on call via the radio left behind until it is time to leave the following morning after sunrise and a good cup of coffee!

    Chalkey's Treehouse

    Chalkley’s Treehouse

Embrace a night under the stars away from noise and clutter, where you are fully immersed into the essence of nature’s tranquil magnificence.

This completely private treehouse, built around a majestic 500 year-old Leadwood Tree situated in the Lion Sands Game Reserve, was erected at the original site where Lion Sands founding father, Guy Aubrey Chalkley, climbed into the trees and set up camp to escape from predators roaming the plains below. Guests can expect to be completely alone with only the majestic sounds of the wild and the distant Sabie River filling the night air.

The Chalkley Treehouse is a secure and lavish platform under the African skies, the romantic treehouse has all the 5-star comforts, but affords an experience as wild as the animals that roam beneath it.

    Kingston Treehouse

    The Kingston Treehouse

Discover the magic of the African night at The Kingston Treehouse within the Sabi Sand Reserve. Make your way through rows of magnificent white boulders and across a small drawbridge, and you will find Africa unfolding in front if you. Set amid the pure and untouched wild, you will be surrounded by African bush and uninhibited wildlife at its best.

The Kingston Treehouse is constructed of glass and wood and is completely open to the elements while still being protective and equipped with full bathroom and shower facilities as well as a range of Africology products to complete your sensory experience.. No matter what the weather has in store, you will have a safe and luxurious setting with a unique window to enjoy the ever-changing views. The bird-life in the reserve is prolific and offers over 300 bird species. Activities at The Kingston Treehouse include having a dinner with champagne, relax and unwind under the stars while enjoying a massage.

Kingston is an experience for your Bucket List. But we must warn you … once will never be enough.

    Tinyeleti Treehouse

    Tinyeleti Treehouse

The Tinyeleti Treehouse, which aptly translates to ‘Many Stars’, is an overnight wilderness experience that has no match. Watch the sun dip beyond the horizon as you sip on a cocktail or a glass of bubbly. You will be utterly riveted by the many animals that arrive at the river to quench their thirst. Tinyeleti is a tale you will tell over and again. That is, if you can find the words to describe it. Tinyeleti Treehouse is fully equipped for your relaxation and you can expect all the comforts of a luxury stay – such as the option of a relaxing head massage.

Expect to hear the constant rush of life from the Sabie River on your doorstep, as well as a few animals, night predators and birds for good measure. The 50m2 deck can accommodate 4 people, and children are welcome. We will provide you with a torch, and, even though there is no electricity, you will find a few bars of cellphone signal.

Tinyeleti is an uninterrupted overnight experience that cannot be replicated, but that will most definitely be re-told. That is, if you can find the words to describe it. For those of us who have come here many times over, well, we’re still at a loss.
