so much more than the largest waterfall in the world
Victoria Falls is found on the beautiful Zambezi River, the fourth longest river in Africa, and along the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia. This majestic sheet of falling water is about twice the height of Niagara Falls in North America and is more than twice the width of Horseshoe Falls, another part of the Niagara Falls, also often called the Canadian Falls. The incredible width of Victoria Falls is exceeded by Iguazu Falls in Argentina and Brazil, but combined with its height it is still regarded as the largest waterfall in the world.
From the Zimbabwean side, Victoria Falls is a year-round destination, as the water never ceases to cascade into the gorge; however, there are times of the year when the water flow is much stronger. Peak flows are expected in April, after the rainy season, and at this time you can enjoy seeing the waterfall in its most impressive state. During October and early November the water levels are much lower and the flow is not as strong, but there are some advantages to this, for example, you are then able to actually walk through parts of the waterfall to get a much closer experience. Accommodation at Victoria Falls is available throughout the year.
