Zimbabwe is filled with huge and beautiful game reserves, but Mana Pools tops the list!
The Mana Pools National Park, along with the Sapi Safari Area and the Chewore Safari Area, has been declared as a single UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is also continuous with the Lower Zambezi National Park found just on the northern side of the river, in Zambia. Since that Mana Pools is an unfenced wilderness area with open campsites and lodges it is perfect for anyone who really wants to get out there and experience the thrill of being in the beautiful environment of Zimbabwe’s famous wildlife. With so much of the park close to water, there are hippos and crocodiles aplenty. These two amazing and fierce creatures alone make the park well worth visiting, but there is also so much more to see. Mana Pools has huge herds of enormous elephants, predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and brown hyena, rhino, zebra, Cape buffalo, baboons, monkeys, warthog and many more animal species. The entire park is an absolute haven for birds and aquatic life as well.
