There is the undiscovered gem of the malaria-free Eastern Cape, where a mixture of safari, the ocean and adrenaline activities await, as well as the cosmopolitan, world-renowned city of Cape Town, where Table Mountain casts its shadow, and the lush Garden Route, the most beautiful stretch of coastal and forest land in the country. On the other side, we have KwaZulu-Natal, Kingdom of the Zulu, where a contemporary beach city meets wildlife and historical battle sites, and the home of our greatest warrior, Shaka Zulu. And then there is South Africa’s jewel, The Kruger National Park, the largest national park in the country, and one of the largest and most renowned in the world. South Africa is situated on the southernmost tip of Africa and is bordered by Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe. South Africa is a vibrant and beautiful country that is filled with a rich blend of people and culture and languages, as well as beautiful landscapes, scenery, and fantastic wildlife.

As we are based in South Africa, we at East Cape Tours are specialists in this brilliant country, and with our strong relationshsips with the staff and owners of many of the lodges and properties in South Africa we are able to help you find the best prices to suit your budget.

South Africa has a range of diverse places to visit, ranging from true African safari adventure to world class cosmopolitan facilities; the country is perfect for those wanting a gorgeous and unique getaway.

The chic city of Cape Town is a must visit. The city is set against the backdrop of a glorious mountain range, including the brilliant and famous Table Mountain. Cape Town is one of the best cities in South Africa, and offers some of the best views, activities as well as entertainment and luxury resorts. Top hot spots in Cape Town include the swanky Victoria & Albert Waterfront, an expansive entertainment centre with an array of stores, cafes, restaurants, bars, as well as various activities including helicopter tours, historical tours and festivals. If you want to experience the outdoors, be near to nature and have the African sun shine down on you, a hike up either Table Mountain or Lion’s Head will be the perfect adventure. There are also cable cars that go up to Table Mountain most days, weather permitting, and it is best to arrive early, and have breakfast as you watch the sun move its way up the bright blue African sky. Cape Town is also in close proximity to the historic Robben Island where Nelson Mandela and many other Apartheid freedom fighters were held. Ferry rides to the island, where you receive a tour, are readily available. To experience the beautiful vast marine life, there is also the Two Oceans Aquarium. Cape Town also has renowned beaches such as Clifton and the up-market Camps Bay, and Cape Point, where the two oceans are reportedly said to meet, although some people believed the Atlantic and Indian Ocean actually meet at Cape Agulhas. Both are stunning and make for the perfect family outing. Cape Town makes a wonderful and unique honeymoon destination.

The Safari Experience

The Kruger National Park is one of South Africa’s most famous national parks. This giant park is home to a variety of animals, including the Big 5 (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, as well as leopard), thousands of antelope, buck and zebra. Kruger offers various safari activities and luxury accommodation to ensure you have a comfortable stay in the African wilderness. Activities include guided game drives, group hikes on the wilderness trail, as well as night drives, where there’s a better chance of seeing lion as they are mostly awake at night, as well as the early morning.

South Africa, Sublime Coastline

To experience some amazing coastline, a trip along the famous Garden Route is recommended, where you can stop at gorgeous towns such as Knysna, Mossel Bay, Plettenberg Bay and the Cape Winelands, including the idyllic town of Franschhoek. South Africa has a range of small towns that have brilliant views, especially along the Klein Karoo, especially Oudtshoorn, a small town famous for its ostriches and the renowned Cango Caves, which can be explored.

South Africa is a wonderful, warm and inclusive country, which is blessed in an abundance of wildlife as well as contemporary infrastructure. Have a look at our exclusive specials and book with us for your African adventure!
