Sossusvlei is probably Namibia’s most recognisable landscape. The dead acacia trees that litter its Deadvlei have long graced the covers of travel magazines and postcards.
Many know of Sossusvlei in Namibia but few have stepped foot on its cracked surface. While Sossusvlei and many other dry saltpans are located in the middle of the desert, there are still many fine accommodations from which to experience all that the area has to offer. The dry saltpans are not the only draw of the Sossusvlei area. Visitors can enjoy the landscape and the wildlife that tread upon it from a hot-air balloon, a safari vehicle, quad bike or even their own two feet on one of the area’s many walking trails.
