Marataba Safari Lodge Reviews
“I can’t even start to explain how amazing the whole Marataba experience was. The hotel is superb, it has just the right balance between luxe and connection to nature. Our guide was Adriaan, a lovely guy with the greatest knowledge abour animal behaviour and everything involved in the safaris. We spent 3 days there and it really was a life changing experience (no exaggeration here). ” –LondonMaf
“From the moment we set foot at Marataba I knew we were going to have a special time. Marataba is such an amazing place, our butler George was such a delight, his service was exceptional. Our accommodation was just incredible, the special touches even shocked my husband! Jono our very professional guide was simply the best, his knowledge and passion is a credit to Marataba..we learnt so much and every safari was amazing, my favourite watching the elephants play in the thick clay and meeting a black rhino. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and Marataba organised a special dinner in the bush to celebrate the occasion, I am still awestruck on what they did for us, a night I will never forget. Marataba your staff, location and accommodation are exceptional, until we met again. ” –Sharee H
“On every count, the 4 days we spent at Marataba exceeded every expectation is a setting that is simply amazing – to have access to a game park that size and not come across anybody else all day, made this very special, whether this was on the game drives or walking in the bush with very experienced guides. The abundance of game – lion, leopard, elephant, giraffe, hippo, rhino, wilderbeest made it very easy to become blase, but not so very special sightings of leopard cubs or coming across a male leopard and seeing it before it saw you! The menu was varied daily and was of a very high standard combined with a level of service which was pitched just right. Considerable though has gone into the tented accommodation, which reflects the bush environment but also puts a dimension of luxury into the experience. And to top it off, Marataba is in an area which is unaffected by Maleria. All in all, an experience to be highly recommended. Please be aware that there is now a separate Trail Lodge and a stay at the Marataba Lodge can be combined with a few days being able to do proper hiking in the bush – we didn’t know about this beforehand, which was a real pity.”-Martin S
