They say dynamite comes in small packages and Gauteng is certainly that explosively exciting and highly entertaining package!
Gauteng is the smallest of the South African provinces, but is the commercial hub of the country, dominating the economy and paving the way in terms of modern infrastructure and cultural diversity. It is therefore the wealthiest of the country’s nine provinces. The land of the province covers only 1.5 percent of the country, but it has a population of over 13 million, which is almost a quarter of all South Africans.
The province of Gauteng is found to the north of Lesotho and to the west of Swaziland. It is also alongside the North West Province, the Free State and Mpumalanga. Limpopo is found to the north. South Africa’s two largest cities are located in Gauteng, Johannesburg and Pretoria. While Johannesburg is the capital of the province and the country’s biggest city, Pretoria is the administrative capital of South Africa.
