Olengoti Eco Safari Camp & Eco Cottages is based in the heart of the Masai Mara Reserve, one of the most unforgiving and wildest environment in the world, deep inside Kenya´s territory. Making a trip to Kenya has a mandatory stop in this privileged space in the middle of the Masai Mara where you can have breakfast in the company of our hippos family, enjoy a dinner surrounded by candles or dream around the camp fire. The perfect place to combine safari and rest.
The Olengoti Eco Safari Camp & Cottages are set along the banks of the Talek river placing us in the front seat in one of the most dramatic and exclusive natural shows in the world, “The Great Migration”.Every year, between May and June the heavy rains come and more than 1.5 million wild animals in Tanzania begin the annual migration to reach their sought after final destination, crossing the banks of the Mara River in Kenya.
The main living area is furnished with comfortable leather chairs and sofas, floors strewn with cushions and the campfire is candle lit, where guests can relax after a hard day. Visitors at Olengoti Eco Safari Camp can enjoy a personalised service where dinner is served al fresco in an open tented dining room or next to the hippo pool cooked by our private chef.
Our eleven tents are set under canvas and exquisitely decorated reflecting the old style of first safaris. To create this authentic atmosphere, we integrate elements from Masai culture such as carpets, handmade furniture crafted by local artisans mixed with rich colours and sumptuous fabrics.
All tents are equipped with two comfortable queen beds covered by soft mohair blankets, duvet, & 100% percale & cotton sheets. Each tent has en-suite bathroom with shower and a private veranda decorated with two rawhide leather safari chairs.
All energy sources are provided by solar energy in line with our eco-tourism policy.
This area, independent of the safari camp, is made up of six spacious eco cottages with direct views of the Talek River in Masai Mara. The Olengoti Eco eco cottages, powered by solar energy, are formed by a large living area and bedroom, en-suite bathroom and outdoor terrace that allows you to enjoy the starry kenyan nights.
In its interior, the warmth has been achieved thanks to the reddish tone of the adobe of the walls made with “tapial”. Inside the wood has a great weight in the design as it gives shape to the structure and floors of the cottages. Masks, figures and leather armchairs, unique pieces made by local craftsmen, coexist with cow hide rugs and palm baskets that take the traveller to a unique safari atmosphere.

Enjoy our game drives in closed 4 x 4 vehicles lead by East Africa Camps expert guides in National Parks, game reserves and conservation areas such as Serengeti, Ngorongoro or Masai Mara. A thrilling experience that begins early morning, the best moment to see wild fauna in their natural habitat, and of course, find the “shy” Big Five. With a bit of luck can be all seen in one day, but what is outstanding is not only to see them but to witness them free & wild, that is the living image and spirit of Africa.
At first morning light, starts the great adventure of living a game drive. The best chance you will ever have of witnessing the hunt in action will be at dawn when the savannah awakens, and the wildlife is still active. This safari time will be dedicated to meet “the big five” which are: lions, buffalos, elephants, rhinos and leopards.
This are undoubtedly the main stars of the show but, due to the vast and extensive territory, we shall also be able to see numerous herds & gatherings of herbivores, always on high alert expecting an imminent attack by cheetah’s or a lion’s pride.
