    Mowani Mountain Camp ★★★

In the heat, dust and stunning landscapes of Damaraland, there is a sanctuary – Mowani Mountain Camp. Dwarfed by massive ochre boulders, the camp is absorbed into the landscape, making it one with our shared history of life in this prehistoric land. Every soft curve or ragged edge frames the landscape in a different way, as if you are seeing for the first time, every time.

    Mountain Suite

A luxury thatched suite with spectacular wrap-around views, equipped with air-conditioning within the room area. The lounge is equipped with a satellite television and CD music centre, private dining and bar facilities, drinks included. A personal waiter is available upon request. Adjacent to the lounge a double room with en-suite bathroom as well as an outdoor bush bath and shower with a gorgeous view once again.

    Mini Suite

A completely private, luxury, thatched mini suite with lounge, satellite television, a king bedded room with en- suite open air bathroom, as well as air conditioning. Laundry service and minibar included. This suite is cocooned in the rocks with granite close-up boulder views.

    View Rooms

12 twin bedded rooms (which can be converted to king beds with prior arrangement), with thatched roofs and en-suite facilities. All 4 Superior View rooms face west with panoramic distant views. The 3 View rooms have an eastern view across the valley and the 5 Standard rooms face to the east or northeast and have more limited views into a boulder-strewn valley.

1 large king size-bedded, thatched room with partly canvas walls, en-suite facilities and a mini fridge (drinks excluded). The room is west facing with its own private deck overlooking the valley. It is situated close to the lodge and is ideal for guests who are not too mobile.

Climb into an open-air vehicle and experience the rush of Africa. Mowani’s local guides share with their guests an intimate knowledge and respect for the land that they have built up over a lifetime. With new insight into local traditions, you will come to fully appreciate the geology, botany and wildlife of the area. Local villagers are welcoming and keen to share their experiences.
