We like the Boardwalk Casino because you can visit at anytime of the day and there is always something interesting happening. It’s a great place to take the whole family because you’re almost guaranteed to find something for everyone. The casino is world-class, featuring 781 modern slot machines and 23 American Roulette, Blackjack and Poker tables. We love that you can also enjoy a blast from the past in the entertainment area, having heaps of fun on the bumper cars, and rides. In the amusement arcade, many of the old machines are still running introducing the kids to the machines you remember from the 1980’s and 1990’s. There is also a cinema and an amphitheater where you can catch regular shows and current Hollywood Box-Office favorites.
PE has a number of beautiful beaches, to name a few: King’s Beach, Hobie Beach, Pollock Beach, Humewood Beach and Sardinia Bay. Our favourite (a tough call to make) would have to be Hobie Beach. It’s a popular beach so you’re bound to find the beautiful people sunning here. It is also a great beach for swimming and it’s close to the restaurants and food outlets. On the other hand, if you’re looking for those long, sweeping waves crashing on the shore, Sardinia Bay is the place for you. It’s a great beach for walking and for ruminating on all the wonders life has to offer. Most of the beaches have braai and/or picnic facilities near them and are all in pristine condition. We love summer in PE because the sky’s always blue, the ocean’s always warm and the people are always friendly.
If you’re anything like us and you love a good challenge- this is certainly the golf course for you. It is a genuine seaside links course, one of the best in South Africa and retains a great deal of the tradition associated with the ‘gentleman’s game’. Playing on this course is very rewarding for a golfer who has real passion for the game. At the same time, if the game gets a bit tough, the scenery is there to take the edge off. The thick coastal bush and whispers of the plovers (also known as “kiewietjies”) will set you at ease and provide much relaxation while enjoying the splendor of being outdoors. We love this course because it keeps the fire of tradition burning and welcomes new golfers with warmth and the undulating excitement.
