    Elephant Plains Game Lodge ★★★★

Elephant Plains Game Lodge If spacious luxury and incredible African style is your definition of a fantastic getaway, look no further than the Elephant Plains Game Lodge.

Elephant Plains Game Lodge is ideally situated within the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, which covers approximately 65 000 hectares, and is part of the 2.2 million hectare Greater Kruger National Park. Although the Manyeleti River only flows in years of particularly high rainfall, it provides a stunning backdrop for the lodge, together with the 4500 hectares of diverse habitats that range from clay-based plains and hilly woodland interspersed with dolerite ridges to mature riverine areas. Fauna and Flora of all variety are therefore plentiful. Although the river may be dry, the lodge overlooks another huge watering hole, and the movements of the animals are captured live on an Africam wildlife camera.

    Traditional Living

Elephant Plains Game Lodge is situated on the dry Manyeleti riverbed, overlooking an open area with a watering hole. Our Africam wildlife camera, which gives website visitors a live view of possible Big 5 sightings, is located in the big Jackalberry tree, facing the watering hole. The lodge layout caters for the discerning traveller, offering different types of accommodation to cater for a variety of needs. Five rondavels are set in the beautifully landscaped garden of the original family camp. Six luxury suites and the Manyeleti honeymoon suite are comprised of, a lounge area, indoor and outdoor showers and a private deck. The Manyeleti honeymoon suite has its own plunge pool.

The African Health Spa is just the place to go if you have the need to rest, relax and rejuvenate, or just feel like spoiling yourself! While relaxing to the sound of soothing music playing in the background and heavenly aromas filling the air, focus your attention to the waterhole in front of you. You might just be lucky enough to spot one of the Big 5, coming from the plains to drink.

Choose Elephant Plains for your next conference venue and combine business with the adventure of an African safari. The Elephant Plains conference facility features a lounge area with satellite TV, a conference area with a projector and big screen as well as a tea / coffee serving facility.

Although the Elephant Plains bush walks provide some relaxing exercise, those not wanting to leave their fitness regime at home are welcome to use the gym. It is equipped with a treadmill, stationary bike, multi-gym as well as free weights.

    Kids Area

Children of all ages are welcome at Elephant Plains Game Lodge. We have a children’s program which can be adjusted according to the amount of children we have in camp. Activities include painting, drawing, beading, constructing an ant farm, mini bushwalks and many more. Special children’s menus are available. Babysitting can be arranged.

    Star Gazing

Join us for a night of star gazing under the African skies. What better place for star gazing than in the middle of the bush, far away from the big city lights! The remoteness of the lodge makes Elephant Plains the ideal spot for star gazing. View constellations such as the Southern Cross and Scorpion and find out interesting facts about nebulas and clusters.

At Elephant Plains Game Lodge you can be sure of game drives and bush walks that will live up to the Africa of your imagination! Not only will you have an excellent chance of close encounters with the Big 5, but you may even be spoiled with the more elusive wild dog and cheetah sightings. As the lodge is situated on a dry riverbed, the surrounding habitat is favourable for leopards, as these creatures enjoy the riverine and denser bush areas.
