Cape Town International Jazz Festival is the largest music event in Sub- Saharan Africa and is a proudly South African produced music festival. The event is hosted at the Cape Town International Convention Centre and usually takes place on the last weekend of March or the first weekend of April each year.
The event has over 40 international and local jazz and jazz-related artists, performing over a 2-day period. Attracting some of the biggest names in “Jazz”, internationally and nationally. Over the last two decades, artists have performed on one of five stages.
This star-studded festival is known as Africa’s Grandest Gathering because music lovers get to see musicians perform. For 2020 it includes musicians such as Jacob Collier and MF Robots from the UK, PJ Morton from the USA, Jonathan Butler – with special guest, Dutch saxophonists, Candy Dulfer from the Netherlands and South Africa’s own artists; Samthing Soweto, Lira, Abdullah Ibrahim, Ndlovu Youth Choir and Lady Zamar to name a few.
There are also several food and shopping facilities.
Finally, tickets sell out within minutes of going on sale. Purchase weekend pass tickets that are available months in advance or tickets for each day that are usually available later on.
