Black Rhino Game Lodge is a hidden treasure set amongst the trees of an old Tamboti forest.
Black Rhino Game Lodge is set amongst the trees of an old Tamboti forest at the foot of an ancient volcanic crater that boasts one of South Africa’s most exciting Big 5 eco-tourism destinations, the greater Pilanesberg National Park. The 58 000 hectares of wildlife wonderland and the magic of African bush, is the ideal location for a luxurious bushveld breakaway.
Located in the west side of the ‘Malaria Free’ Pilanesberg National Park, and only 33km from Sun City, The Black Rhino Game Lodge is built between a Tamboti forest, overlooking a busy waterhole, which is a hive of bird and animal activity, and a playground for the elephant. On many occasions, the stillness of the night is broken by the roaring of lions, and the franklins singing the morning wake up call.

Black Rhino Game Lodge Activities
The Black Rhino Game Lodge is on the western side of the malaria free, ‘Big Five’ Pilanesberg National Park of South Africa’s North West Province, the Lodge provides a beautiful bushveld getaway.
Unlike any other national game park, the Pilanesberg hosts a combination of animal, bird, insect, reptilian and vegetation species, such as the Brown Hyena, Springbok, Red Eyed Bulbul and Camel Thorn tree. The Pilanesberg National Park is the perfect combination of the Kalahari and the wetter Lowveld. A major advantage of the Pilanesberg is that it is ‘Malaria Free’, which is not the case with other game parks further north. Sun City, best known for hosting the Million Dollar Golf Challenge and other spectacular events, lies on the border of the Pilanesberg, and is only a 33 km drive from the Black Rhino Game Reserve.
South Africa is home to many different tribes, each with distinct songs, dances, traditional dress and cuisine. The Cultural Village offers visitors a taste of the rural life in an African village and provides local artisans an opportunity to showcase their art and crafts. Experience an authentic ‘shebeen’ or township tavern atmosphere, where you can taste traditionally brewed beer and typical South African dishes. Fees include curios, shebeen, village and boma.
Kwena Gardens Crocodile Sanctuary
The Kwena Gardens Crocodile Sanctuary is located near the entrance to the resort. Home to 300 Nile crocodiles and the two largest captive crocodiles in the world, the sanctuary offers a fascinating activity for the whole family.

“We spent two nights in this magical place! Staff were friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. Game drives twice a day were an experience all on their own – wonderful to view game in their natural habitat!
We were fortunate to have plenty of elephants coming to the watering hole right next to the shared communal dining and lounge area at various times during our stay!
Accommodation was comfortable & meals were beautifully presented, ample & tasty!
