Port Elizabeth is a surprising contrast on the one hand a holiday destination with wonderful blue flag beaches surrounded by National Parks and Game Reserves, on the other an industrial city and a major car building centre. General Motors factory is close to the City Centre, Ford manufactures engines for worldwide export and Volkswagen has a plant at nearby Uitenhage. Many other automotive suppliers are based here manufacturing tyres and catalytic converters, wheels and leather car seat covers for export worldwide, and manufacture the world's best AC Cobra replica. |

Port Elizabeth has exceptional weather with temperatures fluctuating between 20 and 30 degrees, winter is normally one or two wet weekends, we are in the Southern Hemisphere and Christmas day is spent on the beach with ice cream. There is a very pleasant beachfront, a casino, four 18 hole golf courses and the Boardwalk Entertainment complex. The City is home to approximately 1.2 million people approximately 1 million of those live in the surrounding townships.

Port Elizabeth has a number of excellent inexpensive restaurants both along the beach front and in the older suburb of Central. The Old Austria restaurant is particularly good but needs to be booked well in advance. Port Elizabeth has a very vibrant nightlife especially at weekends. The Beach Front has the typically European Venues. The townships have the Shebeen (an evening in a Shebeen has to be part of any South African visit) and the Northern areas have wonderful clubs, great music cheap beer wonderful nights out Parliament Street located in Central has clubs and bars for all races and much to the annoyance of the neighbours is the City's party street. Eyethu which opened recently means ours in Xhosa and with 3 dance floors and outside braai area is gaining a reputation as Port Elizabeth's best party venue. E mail for more details |

Port Elizabeth as the name implies is a major port and the sea plays an important part in our lives. We offer trips to see the penguin colonies dolphins and whales. There are the most stunning beaches, 15kms from the City Centre we have Schoenmakerskop and the Sacramento trail which leads to Sardinia Bay. Onwards we have Bushmans River Mouth. In the opposite direction we have the sand dunes at Alexandria some of the largest and most un-spoilt in the world. |

Port Elizabeth has excellent accommodation Fifth Avenue Beach House located 200 metres from Port Elizabeth's Hobie Beach is one of the best. The city has been considered something of a backwater but there are a number of extremely exciting projects underway. A new deep water harbour Coega is being constructed 20 Kilometres from the City. This will allow the existing harbour to be utilised for leisure activities with a freedom museum as the centre piece this will include a 100 metre tall statue of Nelson Mandela. This will rival the statue of liberty in size. The City has also been "re branded" Nelson Mandela Bay and the Logo is the latest design for the statue. |
