With its 5 star game lodge luxury, guests have every opportunity to enjoy the ultimate essence of South Africa's luxury and style. The luxurious Pumba Water Lodge comprises of 12 stone-walled, thatched, waterfront cottages all opening onto a private timber deck with outdoor shower and plunge pool overlooking the Kariega Lake and game drinking water or splashing around. The new Msenge Bush Lodge offers 11 chalets in the thick bush also with all 11 bedrooms opening up onto a timber deck with outdoor shower and plunge pool overlooking roaming game.

The bedrooms and bathrooms offer under-floor heating, dreamy, free-standing bathtubs, double basins, terry towel bathrobes and splendid appointments to create an ambience of luxurious indulgence with a spa treatment or two. The Pumba Water Lodge has decks overlooking Lake Kariega and on a hot sunny day all the animals on the reserve big 5 included will come to the lake.

Sit on you deck or at the bush bar and floating pier and watch the game as it comes to the lake.

Or take a guided walk

Guided foot tracking or walks are offered for those wishing to experience a more intimate relationship with the bush and its fauna and flora. The game rangers will give informal tuition regarding the procedures to be adhered to on the guided walks. There are game-viewing hides where guests will be escorted to, by an experienced ranger who will answer any questions the guest might have about wildlife encountered.

Gourmet Experience

As a Five Star Reserve Pumba Safaris is a gourmets delight.

Dining is an experience at Pumba where our chefs create mouth-watering masterpieces. Meals can be served in various locations such as the central dining room, main decks, starlit boma or privately. Private candlelit dinners can be arranged.

Personnel service ensure the very best experience. The package includes three cordon bleu meals and all alcohol with the exception of the vintage wine collection.

BUSHMAN SANDS GOLF COURSE (Designed by Gary Player)

This golf course is a 30 minute drive from Pumba Safaris

The 18-hole championship course has been designed by South African golfing legend, Gary Player. The course follows the banks of the Bushmans and New Years Rivers, resembling the game's earliest "links" courses in Scotland with undulating fairways and pot bunkers. The first 10 holes of the Golf Course are completed and the remaining 8 holes are due for completion by October 2005.

Unique features include playing the first stroke over the railway line, a double green (1400 sq.m) shared by the 2nd and 5th holes, crossing the Bushman's River and New Year's River on various holes and finishing with a final drive over a small cemetery in the centre of the fairway. A challenging, yet friendly course, to be enjoyed by all golfers.

Pumba Water Lodge

The luxurious Pumba Water Lodge comprises of 12 stone walled, thatched, waterfront cottages leading off meandering timber footpaths. Each chalet offers a private setting with a unique view of the magnificent Lake Kariega. The chalets open up onto private timber decks with outside showers and plunge pools. The bathrooms offer under floor heating, dreamy, deep free-standing tubs, double baisins, terry-towel bathrobes and splendid appointments which create an ambience of luxurious indulgence. Air conditioning, earthernware fireplaces and fine linen ensure your absolute comfort.

Msenge Bush Lodge

Msenge Bush Lodge is the second lodge on the reserve with conference and wedding facilities. The lodge offers 11 thatched, glass enclosed chalets, each in its own private bush setting, giving you the ultimate feeling and experience of an African Bush Safari. Each luxury, 5 star chalet offers the following: Private bush setting overlooking the small watering hole and flood plain, against a backdrop of mountains. Private game viewing deck with plunge pool and outdoor shower.

Day Safari

This is an excellent way to get a taste of Pumba and to see the big 5. Trips are in a purpose built open Land Rover and take approximately 3 hours, an excellent safari meal and beverages are included.
