Hidden within the cavernous bushveld of the Eastern Cape's Sundays River region lies the malaria-free Addo Elephant National Park. It is here, where the evening's silence is broken by the howl of the black-backed jackal and the francolins' calls herald each new dawn, you will find the luxurious Kuzuko Lodge. Kuzuko in the Zuurberg Mountains, Karoo landscape, is a private section of the malaria-free Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa's third largest national park. Attractions which will enhance your nature experience are a star-gazing telescope, waterhole hides, day and night game drives in a 15,000 ha game reserve, bird-watching and walks to historic Bushmen paintings. Recreation facilities include a restaurant, bar and lounge, an infinity swimming pool and wellness centre. Kuzuko is a new lodge and has not been graded yet officially. The concept behind Kuzuko Lodge was to create economic upliftment for this area of high unemployment. Kuzuko bought into a pioneering programme setup by the Wilderness Foundation, whereby young adults from broken backgrounds were selected for a course in ecotourism. These young people have successfully been included in the Kuzuko team. |

Arrival time at the reserve is 14h00. Relax and take in the magnificent views from your luxury suite. High tea starts around 15h30 and the malaria-free game drive half an hour later. The reserve includes 14500 ha of land where wildlife is busy being reintroduced. After the sunset you return to the lodge for a sumptuous dinner. The "Sky Rangers" enhance your nature experience with cosmic safaris from the deck using a 8inch telescope for awesome star-gazing of the Karoo sky. The next day begins with an early morning game drive when the animals start being active, followed by breakfast. At 11h00 it is time to say goodbye to this serene paradise. |

Your accommodation: 24 luxury air-conditioned chalets, each with a private lounge and deck area with spectacular views of the dense valley below. All rooms have DStv bouquet, phones, tea/coffee making facilities and en-suite bathrooms with separate bath and shower and enclosed toilet. Kuzuko Lodge in the Zuurberg Mountains is fully wheelchair accessible and 3 chalets have special facilities. This is also an ideal break away venue for conference groups. The conference facilities are modern and suitable for up to 30 delegates. |

Rates include transfers between Kuzuko Gatehouse and Kuzuko Lodge, accommodation, welcome drinks on arrival, high tea, two game drives or game walks (refreshments will be served on game drives), five-course dinner, early morning tea/coffee and brunch. Children under the age of 12 are accommodated free if sharing with one or two adults. Children aged 0-2, no charge. Children aged 3-12, 50% of the applicable rate per meal per day. Children occupying their own rooms will be charged the full rate. |
