Big 5 Game Reserves

Sibuya Game Reserve - a bush, river & sea experience!

Kuzuko Lodge

Idwala Game Lodge

Winter special 2010: R1,950 per person sharing. During this period you can book the entire lodge (4 suites) for R12,000 per night.

Tucked away in the malaria free Eastern Cape is Idwala Game Lodge. Named after the rocky cliff that guards the lodge, Idwala means rock in Zulu.

Bushman Sands

A reasonably priced reserve located 95 km's and one hours drive from Port Elizabeth. The Reserve is ideal for Golf enthusiasts having a Gary Player designed Golf Course.

The Reserve is 4,000 hectares and is located in Alicedale which was for 100 years an important railway town, the railway moved away 30 years ago and the town fell into disrepair.

Kariega Game Reserve is a Big 5 Game Reserve situated 141 kilometres from Port Elizabeth a very pleasant 1 1/4 hours drive and 10 minutes from the golden beaches at Kenton on Sea.

The Reserve covers more than 6,000 hectares and is sanctuary to abundant game and wildlife such as lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhino, hippo, giraffe, zebra, eland, wildebeest, waterbuck and a variety of antelope, as well as a myriad of bird species, including nesting Martial, Crowned and Fish Eagles.

One of the highlights of this reserve is that the predators are in an area separate to the accommodation, there are wonderful walks from the Kariega Lodges where you can get very close to the giraffes and wildebeest.

Lalibela

A luxury four star Big 5 Game Reserve offering wonderful game viewing at affordable prices.

The reserve is ideal for children offering a special children's programme.

The reserve is 90 km (1 hour) from Port Elizabeth and covers 7,500 hectares. There is a choice of three excellent safari camps, each with their own character; from the traditional thatched safari lodge to a luxury tented lodge. There are no public roads through the reserve.

Amakhala Game Reserve

Inkwenkwezi Game Reserve

Big 5 Inkwenkwezi Game Reserve is a 40 minute drive from East London airport towards the Wild Coast and only five minutes from magnificent beaches, situated within an area of 100 m2 encompassing five different biomes which offer varied game viewing. It is one of the few reserves with a tidal estuary. The reserve has the Big 5 and a variety of antelope as well as giraffe, zebra & other predators.

Inkwenkwezi features five of the six vegetation types found in South Africa, this makes for a uniquely diverse landscape allowing for a range of activities in ever varying scenery.

Thunzi Bush Lodge

Thunzi Bush Lodge is located in the tranquil sanctuary of coastal forest and African bush and offers country style Bed and Breakfast accommodation 30 km from the centre of Port Elizabeth, at the start of the Garden Route.

The lodge caters mainly for the traveller who enjoys a tranquil setting, forest & beach walks, bass fishing or bird watching.
