Addo Elephant National Park, has the highest density Elephant Population in the World.
The Park is one of the worlds most exciting conservation programs, and is being extended at an incredible rate. It now covers 125,000 hectares and is expanding to 492,000 hectares (1.2 million acres) which will be 1/4 of the Size of Wales.
The Park is located less than 1 hour form Port Elizabeth and has the "Big 7" as lions were re-introduced in October last year. The park has more than 300 other mammal species, including the wild dogs (pictured) in addition to the magnificent variety of birds.

Schotia Safaris after noon evening trip 600 ZAR. The afternoon evening tour is excellent when combined with the Addo National Park day trip at a cost of 1,000 ZAR per person.
Schotia Safaris is the oldest reserve in this part of the Eastern Cape and was the first to reintroduce hunting lions.
You go on a 2-3 hour game drive in an open Land Rover. This is followed by a safari meal in the boma.
Lailbela Game Reserve 1,000 ZAR. We recommend this is combined with the Addo National Park day trip at a costs of 1,250 ZAR per person.
Lalibela is a "Big Five" Game Reserve which spans 4 ecosystems (valley bushveld, grassland,fynbos and riverine forest) resulting in a breathtaking diversity of plants animals and birds.
The day program starts at the day centre with tea and coffee. A ranger takes you on a 3-hour game drive in an open Land Rover. This is followed by a safari meal in the covered lapa.
Option 1. Leave Port Elizabeth 11.30 return approx. 7pm.

Kariega Park is entering an exciting phase it became a "Big 5" Game Reserve in May 2004.
It is a very difficult decision for Game Reserves to make as there has to be a change to the entire eco system, jackals also need to be reintroduced to dispose of the left over's!!

Tsitsikamma National Park. Take a visit to one of South Africa's Gems drive along the coast road via St Francis Bay and visit the Tsitsikamma National Park, visit the worlds highest bungy jump if you would like, price 1,000 ZAR including entrance fee to the National Park.
Tsitsikamma National Park adventure option. Storms River is the adventure centre of the Garden Route, for those brave enough,the worlds highest bungy jump off the Bloukrans bridge, enjoy some of the magic walks in the Tsitsikamma National Park, take a tree top canopy tour suspended in the giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees,abseiling, Mountain biking, horse riding, or snorkeling, price for this option 1,450 ZAR including your choice of adventure activity.
Grahamstown and Port Alfred. This is settler country, see where the unfortunate people that came here to farm in the 1820's were supposed to live and farm. Visit Grahamstown now a peaceful agricultural and university city, visit the Cathedral of St Michael and St George and try and work out what part of England you are in.
For 2 weeks every year at the beginning of July Grahamstown comes to life with the Grahamstown festival. A visit at this time of year is a must here African Township Jazz at its very best. Accommodation is booked six months in advance so a day trip would be a good option.
The trip for the other 50 weeks a year carries on through Bathurst and the worlds biggest pineapple,take lunch in Africa's oldest pub onward to Port Alfred through Kenton on Sea and back to Port Elizabeth.
This is a very full day trip and again should be spread over several days and to include a stay at Kariega Park (see above) but again we will fit in as much as possible. Cost for this trip is 1,200 ZAR per person.
