Darlington Lake Lodge a South African travel bargain. Darlington Lake Lodge is located in a newely added section the north west of the Addo Elephant National Park, which is home to over 400 elephants the highest density of elephants in the world. Lions have recently been reintroduced into the area after they were hunted to extinction in the 1840's, there is more to Addo National Park than just the "Big 7" There are over 200 other mammal species. The Addo National Park is malaria free and no medication is required. |

Darlington Dam was completed in 1922 and submerged the village of Darlington ; it supplies water to the Sundays River Valley where the famous Outspan oranges are grown.
At first site the lake appears bizarre as it is deep in the semi desert Karoo , which you can imagine is like the surface of the moon. Darlington Lake Lodge is a Karoo oasis. It is extremely stylish and comfortable with incredible gardens and a sparkling swimming pool, the lake has some of the best fresh water fishing in the country and hosts many National competitions. |

The area is going through an extremely exciting time with 15 elephants translocated from the Kruger National Park . Adjacent to the lake and lodge are a herd of juvenile buffalos that were proving to be easy prey for the newly released lions. They will be reintroduced into the lion section when they are fully grown. Darlington Lake is a wonderful place to experience a true African sunset. Contact our team to make your booking. |
